Elisabetta's Art
Elisabetta's current work has at its heart the Surrealist Art movement. Elisabetta lstarts with images of what may be called iconic female beauty. She continues to explore these, hitherto, acceptable images of the feminine and offers back a distortion and unconventional, transforming her images into statements of what it is to be a woman in art. Elisabetta's journey through each image is a spontaneous, visceral reaction to beauty and the destruction of it. Not only does she question our definition of what is female beauty but how the face can express and mirror female issues such as aging, sexual assault, domestic abuse and mysogany, motherhood and oppression of women.
Elisabetta graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art and History of Art from Goldsmiths University, London, in 1985.
Her early background in figurative expressionism blends its way throughout her present works of art. She experiments with layering in the printmaking process and traditional methods are seen to play with more contemporary approaches of mixed media art. Elisabetta's art projects include printmaking, painting, photography, collage art and installations. She is also a Playwright/Stage Director and a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist.
Elisabetta's Mission
I have always believed that fine art should be accessible to all, regardless of wealth. Visual art is for everyone. I sell my art on a sliding scale system. I do not believe that art has to be expensive just to 'prove' it must be good. If you like it, you should be able to buy it. I place reasonable prices on all my original, unique pieces as well as offering giclée prints for every one of my images, thus providing a cheaper way to own fine art, with sizes ranging from A5 to A2. My fulfilment comes from knowing that a piece of my art means something to someone and that it finds a home where it will be seen and enjoyed.
